Local Exhaust Ventilation (LEV) Monitoring
Previous | 2 / 5 | Next |
The objective of a Local Exhaust Ventilation monitoring is to measure the efficiency of removal of contaminants from an exhaust system and engineering control system which designed to reduce employee exposure to airborne contaminants (dust, mist, fume, vapour, gas) in the workplace. By using digital anemometer and manometer, the instruments show the value of capture, transport and face velocity at source to a safe emission point or to a filter/scrubber.
The objectives of the examination and testing are as the following;- To examine, test and evaluate the performance of local exhaust ventilation systems.
- To recommend where necessary, remedial or improvement for the LEV system which required rectifications.
- To document the conditions and performance of the LEV for future assessment and record keeping.
- To comply with the Occupational Safety and Health (Use and Standards of Exposure of Chemicals Hazardous to Health) Regulations 2000.
- To check the LEV design are in accordance to the approved standard and tested by registered professional engineer after construction and installation.
In compliance with Occupational Safety and Health (Use and Standards of Exposure of Chemicals Hazardous to Health) Regulations 2000, an employer needs to engage Hygiene Technician II registered with Department of Occupational Safety and Health (DOSH). Spectrum Laboratories Group offers this monitoring as we do have many competent person or well trained and registered Hygiene Technician II to perform LEV monitoring.
